Coming February IKEA will launch CHARLOTTA; a collection of fabrics they asked me to design on the theme Japan meets Scandinavia.
Or well - you could say I came up with all these different pattern ideas for them and then they choose which ones they liked and what the finished product would look like, thus maybe half my design, half IKEAs.
But it's so awesome the fabrics will be in IKEA department stores all over the world including Japan ^^ (what will all their real manga artists think I wonder...? O_o)
I did these the same year as I did my final year at the Comic Art School, finished my own book and illustrated no less than four (!!) children's books, which all in all caused some major work related damage to my right arm. But then again, the fabrics were the kind of job you just wouldn't want to turn down.

Nu i Februari kommer IKEA lanserar kollektion CHARLOTTA; en serie tyger jag tog fram på temat Japan möter Skandinavien.
Eller nåja - man kan säga att jag kom upp med en massa olika mönster som IKEA sen kunde jobba fritt med, så de färdiga produkterna är egentligen hälften min design, hälften deras.
Men hur coolt som helst att de kommer hänga uppe i varuhus över hela världen! (Och i Japan! Vad ska alla riktiga manga-tecknare där säga? O_o)
Jag gjorde jobbet samma år som jag gick serieskolans friår, färdigställde min egna bok samt illustrerade inte mindre än fyra drakböcker (!!). Jag lyckades givetvis tecknade sönder armen upprepade gånger i jobbstressen, men om en kund som IKEA hör av sig säger man inte gärna nej.
